Frequently asked questions
Our largest pony can hold up to 100 pounds. The smaller ponies hold up to 80 pounds. Weight is not the only factor though; height can make balance very hard on our smaller ponies. We recommend that if the child riding is tall (typically above 5 feet tall) then you request our larger pony. If the children are all small then please let us know, we like to use our smaller ponies for smaller children.
We will still come rain or shine unless it is a threat for our animals & the people in attendance. If there is time, we can hangout until it becomes clear or reschedule if that also is an option. We have done events in snow before also! If Pony Parties cancels on you, ALL of your money is refunded to you. If you cancel on us, the deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE.
Accidents can happen but no worries, we clean up after our animals the best we can! We try to clean up immediately after an "accident" occurs so the smell doesn't linger long and so nobody steps in it. We also have let people keep the manure for gardens or any other needs, we do not mind! Some animals are harder to clean up after (EX: rabbits, goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys) so we cannot guarantee that every last drop will be picked up.
Most ponies love treats and food more than life itself, and most children enjoy feeding them! We have special rules for feeding ANY of our animals.
Please inform guests to not feed our ponies prior to our arrival (if we are a surprise, we will share it with everybody).
At the end of your party, our staff can provide special treats that the children may feed the ponies, but only under supervision. (Little fingers can look like carrots to a pony if they are not fed properly.) When it is time for feeding, we will have children line up and wait their turn to feed the pony their treat! One at a time will go up.
If you would like to provide a special treat for the animals, please discuss that with us before-hand so we can assure the correct treat is purchased!
Our ponies are used to being around dogs, however most dogs do not know what a pony is and have never seen one. For your children, guests, and our ponies' safety, we ask that you please keep all dogs kept inside preferably (or contained in a fenced yard).
Our German Shepherd has been out with our ponies to get them used to being around dogs!
The petting zoo animals are not very familiar with what a dog is so for their safety we also ask that any dogs be put away from the animals. Some dogs do not know that our animals are scared. Dogs tend to be playful which can scare our bunnies, piglets, goats, and birds.
